I wasn't sure where to put there so here we go. It's not really a current faction but more of an old fallen civilization.
Faction Name: The Chozo
Dominant Species: Chozo
Population Size: unknown, extremely low (near extinct)
Government Type: none (population too low to maintain a government)
Faction Strengths: technologically advanced, spiritually enlightened
Faction Weaknesses: longevity (most of what remains of their race are incredibly old and thus unable to fight), pacifists, tendency to create things meant to save the galaxy that usually end up threatening it (i.e. Mother Brain and Metroids)
Capital Ship: n/a
Goals: Maintaining galactic peace.
Faction History: Long before any of the current civilzations, the Chozo civilization was a warrior-like race of bird-like humanoids, proud of their great fighting strength and advanced technology (Tier 2, mostly). However, due to their races lifespan, old age wreaked havoc on their reproductive systems, causing a steep decline in their population. Facing extinction, their attitude changed from seeking conquest to seeking knowledge, and their entire civilization shifted into a pacifist society centered around scientific and technological advancement (they bordered Tier 1 in several cases) and shamanistic wisdom. They dedicated their dwindling race to the preservation of life across the galaxy, and were known for sharing their wisdom and technology with many other races, including ones not as advanced as their own. Currently, there have been little-to-no interactions between the remnants of the Chozo civilization and other races, leading many to suspect that if they have not died out, they have either left the galaxy, ascended to another plane of existence, or are reclusive and do not wish to interact with other races. It is not yet known if they have interacted with humans save for the incident at K-2L and adoption of Samus Aran. However, their ruins, and the ruins of ancient races that they affected can be found scattered across the cosmos, and are rather popular among archeologists and other intellectuals. While the Chozo themselves might not be seen anymore, their dedication to the preservation of life throughout the galaxy has been remembered through recovery of artifacts and the existence of Samus Aran.
