Physical Appearance:
Samus stands at 6' out of her suit, tall for females of the human race, and despite her age, she looks to be in her early-twenties. Her build is lean as her muscles are dense, and her skin is often pale due to lack of sunlight (she spends most of her time in her suit, especially around others). Her hair is blond, often kept long but in a haphazard ponytail or bun to keep it out of the way, a pair of side-bangs framing her face. You can actually tell she isn't human; though she looks human for the most part and many humans would consider her to be attractive, her facial features are a little too sharp, almost avian. It's subtle, but the more you stare at her face the more you notice it. Despite her profession she has next to no scars due to an accelerated healing rate.Powers: Superhuman traits, Force-Sensitive, cybernetic enhancements
Abilities:
Training with the Chozo in combination with her infused DNA has made Samus an excellent warrior, capable of feats of strength, stamina and dexterity beyond that of a normal human. Though she prefers to stay in her suit and shoot her enemies, she is skilled in martial arts and is deadly outside of her suit as well. Cybernetic enhancements she has gained over the years have only increased her potential. She is also super-intelligent, evident by her understanding of technology (she preforms suit maintenance herself given she's the closest thing to an expert on Chozo tech, and she designed her own ship) and her sharp learning curve. Due to the spiritual nature of the Chozo, Samus is Force-Sensitive, able to read surface emotions and general thoughts of the people around her, as well as sense spirits and other such entities, even interact with them.Weapons:
Samus' success not only lies in her own personal abilites but in that of her powersuit, a suit of armor designed by the Chozo (underneath it she wears the Zero Suit). The suit is unique to Samus and it's usefulness is due to its ability to add on new technology and upgrade itself, even tech that is non-Chozo. It is iconic due to its bright orange color scheme and arm cannon, but it is durable and deadly. Currently, her upgrades are as follows:History:

Samus Aran was born to Virgina and Rodney Aran in the remote Mining Colony K-2L. It was a new colony, not yet on the radar, her parents being among the original founders who settled the area in order to harvest a local surplus of useful resources for shipbuilding. When Samus was three, the colony was visited by a race known as the Chozo, a hyper-intelligent, near extinct species of bird-like humanoids. They were peaceful and spent only a few hours at the colony before moving on, but unfortunately, their presence attracted the attention of a race merely known as the Space Pirates (led by the Space Dragon Ridley), who raided the colony with the aim of gaining the resources the human colonists were harvesting. Everyone was brutally slaughtered save for Samus, who was retrieved after the Chozo returned a few weeks later. Due to the lack of an established human presence in the star system that the colony was located in, and due to the fact the colonist's contract didn't require contact with their employers until several years later, the brutal slaughter of the K-2L colony wasn't noticed for quite some time. By the time ships arrived at the distant colony, the local flora had grown over most of the evidence of the attack, leaving the disappearance of the K-2L colony a mystery similar to that of Roanoke Colony, a late-16th-century English colony established in present-day North Carolina that disappeared without clear explanation.
In the meantime, Samus was taken by the Chozo to their homeworld, Zebes, partly out of guilt, and partly due to their lack of knowledge on the location of more humans. Due to the harsh environment being too much for her fragile human body, the Chozo infused some of their DNA with hers, giving her superhuman traits. From then on she was raised to be a Chozo warrior as they worked on their final project, the creature known as Metroid, designed to fight against the vicious X Parasite. By the time she was 14 she was already a skilled warrior with abilities far beyond that of normal humans. However, the Chozo urged Samus to be among her own kind, and so she left them, intermingling among the human race without revealing her alien upbringing and advanced technology.
Samus' time among her own race was awkward and uncomfortable. Her infusion with Chozo DNA led to a slow aging process and it was hard to blend in with superhuman traits such as strength and agility. She served in the military for several years, gaining military knowledge, cybernetic enhancements, and establishing herself a fierce warrior and a brilliant tactician after she gained experience in the field. She managed to shoot through the ranks considerably due to her steep learning curve, but eventually she grew bored of the military life and resigned in 2464 before she gained any fame, much to the shock of her fellow soldiers.
After that she all but disappeared off the map, and instead rumors began to emerge both among humans and other races of a skilled bounty hunter clad in bright orange armor. The species, age, and gender of this mysterious bounty hunter were just as up in the air as the source of the advanced technology of its suit. It took several years until the almost forgotten Samus Aran of the military was matched up to the legendary bounty hunter Samus Aran. She is known for completing jobs singlehandledly that most would consider impossible, and has risen to an almost legendary status among many. Some even consider her to not even exist, merely an outlandish rumor that's been spread around too much.
In 2472, a mission brought Samus to her homeworld, Zebes, in order to defeat the crazed AI Mother Brain and the Space Pirates that were allied with her, including Samus' old nemesis, Ridley, and the Metroids, which had been twisted from their original purpose into dangerous bioweapons used by the Space Pirates. Samus infiltrated the planet (no longer inhabited by the Chozo) and defeated the Space Pirates and Mother Brain, blew up the Space Pirate Mothership, and made her escape to pursue Ridley after she discovered he survived their battle in Norfair on Zebes.
Since then, Samus has been invovled in several other high-profile cases that earned her even more fame. First was the destruction of all pirate activities on the planet Tallon IV (where they were harvesting a mutagenic and radioactive substance known as Phazon) and the destruction of Metroid Prime. Shortly after that, she came out on top in a deadly competition between six other elite hunters and defeated the being known as Gorea in the Alimbic Cluster. After that was the incident on Aether, in which she saved the indigenous species known as the Luminoth, destroying the malevolent Ing race and their 'dark' version of the planet that existed in a separate dimension due to a large object crashing into their planet.
Her most recent claim to fame is the Phazon incident, which involved several Phazon-ridden Leviathans crashing on several planets, attempting to infect the planets with Phazon. Samus was infected with Phazon which began to corrupt her body and mind, but destroyed all the Leviathans, defeated three fellow bounty hunters that were driven mad by Phazon themselves, laid a siege on the Space Pirate home-world, defeated her Phazon counterpart, Dark Samus (formerly Metroid Prime), and obliterated the living planet Phaaze (origin of all Phazon and Phazon-related crap) and wiped the substance known as Phazon out of the galaxy.
Currently, Samus travels about, still searching for work when she can, but aiming for more low-profile jobs than her more recent 'missions.' Since the intermingling of humanity and other races, she has shown up on the radar more, though she often strays towards lawless areas rather than places such as the Citadel.
