I love the site. The layout is easy to navigate and easy to move around. A HUGE plot line isn't needed i think at this time. due to the active member statue. I think it would need to be lesser plots with a set number of people and one person to drive it. As in Let's take myself as an example (I wanna stroke my Ego for a moment) Being the starter of a plot line we would need a villian character in order to do what the opposition does for a thread, would have a posting order. Essentially like a mission on a planet of some sort. Who ever enlists are the ones in it. Such As... Myself Clash Mr. X Jess Tori XXX XXX XXX Villian. This way the characters have time to react to what is going on. Though a stat system wouldn't be too bad... I have something in mind but haven't had enough time to test it out at all. Some people may have a problem with a stat line but I have come up with something that I think may work for this site. There's too much porn between Tori and Villain. The stat system seems out of question, the last ten forums I've been on with a stat system did it either poorly or it just wasn't well received, mainly because stats segregate the casual crowd from the hardcore crowd. There is a popular hunger games forum that has a attack system where you randomize numbers to see how much damage you did if you even hit them, but that's more or less a competitive role play forum whereas I believe this should remain casual in a sense of story telling. Now I might of misunderstood so you may want to elaborate. Everything else is a good idea though. -thumps up-
I didn't come here to critique someones post, it just happens. My suggestion is... a fuckin time line... Because I do those things all the time and they make it 5000000 times easier to navigate history than reading a block of text. It also allows you to add and subtract events in a heart beat and doesn't have to focus on any one race. Other then that, I'd suggest the usage of a Members only section on the forum that has 'blog' spaces where people can post information about themselves and their coding they use for their posts as a backup. It's a passing idea that isn't really important but I think it would benefit people to have a space of their own, I'm not sure how V5 works but Sagas uses a inhouse forum system where you can set up a board and only the member who posted a topic can see it and staff of course.

Well Duckman, You can NEVER have enough porn. Come on.
And I always enjoy some critiquing. Helps me come up with something else.
The Missions Idea I had working on a Xin- kind of like a Fighting Highschool thing. I am more than willing to put one up for people to get a taste if the Mod/staff is willing. It will take no time for me to come up with something for it.
Though I do agree they are not well taken, but I always want to try to make something work somewhere in a board. Implementation is COMPLETELY up to the community and the staffers.
The stats are for something like this; How fast people can move, how hard they can hit, damage they can take before being knocked out. I wasn't planing on using a random generator for attacks and how much damage you do. I leave that to games like Pokemon and Final Fantasy. xD
It would mainly be peoples judgement to make the characters more human/mortal is what I am trying to get at. It's an idea.

Mission idea, go, examples and such.
Stats, not so much. My favorite forum to date was a Star Wars based forum that had no stats and when they got added in people didn't know how to gauge their stats to their characters and it became a dick measuring contest. Besides that, I'm already leaving it up to the people to make the most logical characters they can come up with and reasonably waiving characters that I deem too powerful or unneeded at this time.
I WOULD like to get a stat forum running one day and working though.

Well-
I am going to attempt to do something on the spot.
Lets say on the group of 2-6 people who are in it (This includes Mission giver and villian) What would happen is lets say the mission specs were the citadel was under attack at the Tower, a group would be sent to hold the position, so combat. OR could be used to try and do a stealth recon mission to get information or what not.. It would last XX amount of posts or until the final mission has been achieved. The Villain. Would have full control of his 'army' going after. Essentially just a bunch of cannon fodder and the players can deal with them as they see fit.
So,
A thread would open to get people to join... Then the mission would start once the people are aboard. the mission...
'Citadel Defense I' Post 1; Would be the person who opened the mission getting the group together to give them the information they need. posts 2-6 would be players getting to know one another Post 7; after that the villain "Super Magical No name man!" (They will have a name per thing) and start to gloat and do evil stuff. As well as stage the attack that is going. Post 8-13; would be the party including the giver to get to the place where they need to go in order to prep for that incoming attack. 14;villain gloats and sends his army or group to fight the players, shooting, trying to get close to stab and what not. 15-20; would be the players retaliating, from taking hits, to shooting to punching and what not. 21; Villain works on the units had had taking damage, dying retreating. 22-27; Mission giver giving a job well done, and the players make their exits.
Just a brief(really brief) step by step of what would be going on. The general idea, but the players can elaborate on stuff.

I like the above idea to an extent. We've (DS folks) have tried something like that in the past and what happens is people steam roll through cannon fodder and rush for the objective right away. On DoA we made an unwritten rule that said cannon fodder isn't there for people to just insta kill it's there to create difficult scenery and propel the story.
The only other problem I see with having X amount of posts before the end of a thread would be people losing interest and not posting making it hard to meet the quota.
So to modify your idea, the 'director' of the thread should announce at any given point after the first post that there'll only be ex. 3 posts from the director before the thread is ended.
For defense missions I like the idea that in 10 posts from the 'director' the thread will be completed. I find that most people who conduct attack and defense situations don't know how to 'pull out' after a certain time before the thread becomes messy and tedious.
So using your ideas and reworking them into a more simple or more complex form could be a good thing for plot and strategy based threads. So you got my like.
