WWF InVasion Angle

Long story short, I'm rebooking the InVasion angle. It'll be done in a video game format so they'll be two RAWs and two SmackDowns before the Pay-Per-View each month. Updates will be posted as soon as I finish writing them. Enjoy.

March 26, 2001 marked the end of an era. The end of the Monday Night Wars as Time Warner sold World Championship Wrestling to the Chairman of its main competition, Vince McMahon. It was an announcement that shocked the wrestling world and waged one final question: what would become of WCW?

Mr. McMahon
“WCW is buried! And WCW will remain bury!”

But fate had other plans.

Shane McMahon
“Once again your ego has gotten the better of you.”

WCW was now owned by Shane McMahon.

On March 26, one war ended.
And a new war begun.



Apr Week 1

Main Event
WWF Championship
The Rock vs. Stone Cold Steve Austin (c)

24 hours ago Steve Austin sold his soul to the devil and now The Rock, looking to regain what he loss in Austin Texas and as soon as the bell rings fireworks explodes (not literally) as the Texas Rattlesnake and the Brahma Bull exchanged lefts and rights in the middle of the square circle! Austin throws another right hand that gets blocked by the Brahma Bull as he starts to get the advantage over the champion, hitting Austin with not one, not two, but three punches before pulling his hand back and then connecting with one more right hand knocking Austin on his ass! The Rattlesnake is quick to get back up to his feet and retreat into the ropes, bouncing off them and then getting Rock with a takedown, repeatedly punching Rock in the “Movie Star” face before referee Earl Hebner forced him off resulting in Austin getting in Hebner's face and nearly causing the referee to trip over his own two feet.

“Austin is like a madman possessed!”
Paul Heyman
“Well would you want to lose the WWF title only 24 hours after winning it?”
Jim Ross
“I certainly would not, but Austin better keep his focus on the challenger, The Rock if he knows what's good for him.”

Right on cue was The Rock, grabbing the Texas Rattlesnake and Irish Whipping him into the turnbuckle corner before closing in with a Corner Clothesline, but Austin came back with a boot to the face prior to climbing up to the top turnbuckle and coming back down with a Double Axe Handle to the head of the Brahma Bull! And now, with his hands on the ropes, Austin proceeds to stomps right on the heart of The Rock, walking a mudhole in him and walking it dry on his promising movie career. The Texas Rattlesnake drops down to his knees and wraps his hands around the neck of the challenger, choking the life out of him as the referee begins to count: 1! 2! 3! 4—! Austin stops and gets in Hebner's face again, but only for a moment this time.

“Hebner better stay out of Austin's way if he knows what's good for him.”
Jim Ross
“Hebner was doing his job! Austin was choking out The Rock and it does not look good at all for the Brahma Bull!”

Austin waits for The Rock to get up to his feet and turn around, going for the Stunner but right when his boot came up Rock managed to catch it at the roar of the crowd, spinning the WWF Champion around and laying him flat on his back against the canvas! Everybody knows what's coming next as The Rock stands over the head of the Texas Rattlesnake, moving his arm with his right boot before taking off his elbow pad and then running across the ring preparing for The People's Elbow and it connects right against the jaw of the Rattlesnake!

Paul Heyman
“Oh no!”
Jim Ross
“It could be over right here! We may be looking at the shortest title reign in history!”

Meanwhile, over in the audience, a masked man jumped the barricade and slid into the ring. He looked to be at least six feet, four, and well over two-hundred pounds. The Rock made the cover on Austin and hooked the leg: 1! 2—! And the masked man stomped on the back of The Rock breaking up the count and forcing Earl Hebner to call for the bell!

“Who in the hell is that!?”
Paul Heyman
“Whoever it is just saved Austin's title reign!”
Jim Ross
“We have an unidentified man in the ring and The Rock has once again just been screwed out of the WWF title!”

The masked man threw The Rock out of the ring with one hand and then shoved Earl Hebner aside, Earl was not having a good night, before setting his sights back on Austin. The masked man then hunched down and waited for the WWF Champion to get back up to his feet, which he did slowly dazed and confused as a result from the previous Spinebuster and People's Elbow combination.

“Austin is dazed and confused!”
Paul Heyman
“Turn around, Austin!”
Jim Ross
“He has no earthly idea who's standing behind him, and neither do we!”
Paul Heyman
“Where the hell is security!?”

Austin finally turned around and just as he did the answer as to who the masked individual was would be revealed in one word:

Paul Heyman
“GORE!”

Shut up, Paul.

Jim Ross
“Spear!”
Paul Heyman
“What?”
Jim Ross
“That was a Spear and there's only one man I know who can spear a person like that!”
Paul Heyman
“Who?”

The masked man brought a thumb up to his throat and rolled it across in a taunt fans around the world would immediately recognize. It was the signature taunt of former WCW Superstar Bill Goldberg before leading up to the Jackhammer and as soon as the crowd realized this the entire arena shook from sheer excitement!

Jim Ross
“It's Goldberg!”
Paul Heyman
“What!?”
Jim Ross
“It's Bill Goldberg underneath that mask and he's setting up for the Jackhammer!
Paul Heyman
“How do you know?”
Jim Ross
“Just look at the size of him! The power! Who else could it be?”
Paul Heyman
“David Arquette?”
Jim Ross
“David Arquette... Give me a break.”
Paul Heyman
“He was a former WCW Champion.”

The masked man lifted the WWF Champion up to his feet and then raised him over his head with ease before bringing him back down to the mat with a vicious Jackhammer! The fans cheered and began to chant, “Goldberg! Goldberg! Goldberg!” over and over again. The masked man looked up and could see WWF security and officials along with the Chairman himself coming to the ring with Triple H. The masked man rolled out of the ring and then made a quick escape over the barricade, disappearing through the crowd with Triple H running after him as Vince McMahon and EMTs dealt with the wounded Steve Austin.

“In all my years in this business I've never seen so much carnage! EMTs are in the ring and Triple H just went after Goldberg!”
Paul Heyman
“Is Austin okay?”
Jim Ross
“Austin, what about The Rock?”
Paul Heyman
“What about him? He wasn't speared by Goldberg.”

The scene ends with EMTs being knocked back by the Texas Rattlesnake who is refusing medical treatment while the fans continue to chant, “Goldberg! Goldberg! Goldberg! Goldberg!”

Apr Week 2

The scene opens to the backstage area in Vince's office, Vince is on the phone while Triple H is sitting on the leather couch in the background with his wife until the three are quickly joined by the WWF Champion who is screaming:

“Vince! Vince!”

The Texas Rattlesnake practically knocked the door down as he came in, prompting Triple H and Stephanie to sit up while Vince put down the phone.

Stone Cold Steve Austin
“Did you see what happened last week?”

Mr. McMahon
“I was there.”

Stone Cold Steve Austin
“I had Rock right where I wanted him and then that piece of trash jumped me from behind and took me out! I want Goldberg's ass!”

Stephanie McMahon
“Calm down, Steve.”

Stone Cold Steve Austin
“Don't tell me to calm down!”

Triple H
“Here, Steve, have a beer.”

Stone Cold Steve Austin
“I don't want a beer!”

Everyone looked shock at Austin's response, having to do a double take as Triple H put down the beer he offered Stone Cold.

Mr. McMahon
“Listen, just calm down. I just got off the phone with our lawyers and according to them there is no evidence linking Goldberg to the attack that happened last Monday.

Stone Cold Steve Austin
“That's a load of crap! Everyone saw it!”

Mr. McMahon
“WCW already has an alibi for Goldberg's whereabouts when you were attacked, he was never unmasked so there's nothing we can do.”

Stone Cold Steve Austin
“So what you're saying – what you're saying, and what the people at WCW are saying is that Goldberg has an evil twin out to ruin his life, that's what you're saying.”

Mr. McMahon
“What I'm saying is, security is tightened and if they try anything again we'll be ready.”

Triple H
“All right, all right, this isn't getting us anywhere. If you're done using your “outside voice” I have a plan to get Bill Goldberg if he shows up tonight.”

Stone Cold Steve Austin
“What?”

Triple H
“Will someone get him out of here.”

The four looked towards the cameraman who were getting the whole thing on tape as now Austin got in his face.

Stone Cold Steve Austin
“You heard the man, get out!”

Austin chased the cameraman out of the office who stumbled over his own two feet and fell to the floor, the camera pointing up to see Austin slamming Vince McMahon's office door shut before the scene went blank.

Main Event
Tag Team
Stone Cold Steve Austin & Triple H vs. The Undertaker & Kane

We return to SmackDown with tag team action, it's the Brothers of Destruction against the unlikely duo of Austin and Triple H. We see that Triple H and Kane will be starting the match off as the bell rings and Triple H immediately begins the assault, hammering away on Kane with right hands but the “Big Red Machine” is hardly phased by the blows as he stares down “The Game” Triple H and knocks him down against the canvas with one strong uppercut to the jaw! Triple H gets up and Kane knocks him down again with a powerful right hand! This time lifting “The Game” up and throwing all two-hundred plus pounds of him into the corner where Taker was. Welcome to hell!

Michael Cole
“The Brothers of Destruction, with an advantage in the early going, meanwhile security is all around the barricade keeping an eye out for the masked individual who attacked Stone Cold Steve Austin last Monday Night on RAW.”
Tazz
“Triple H is in a bad way here, smart move by Kane to get him in his corner where he and Taker can tag in and out as they please.”

Kane tags in his brother and the two proceed to double team Triple H, punching him repeatedly until he drops down against the turnbuckle post. Taker pulls him up while Kane returns to the ring apron and connected with a combination of punches like that of a boxer with the last punch causing Triple H to fall from the corner and face first into the mat. The Undertaker walks over to the fallen Triple H, picking him up with his right hand, meanwhile Austin comes into the ring only to be held back by the referee but this allows “The Game” to hit a Low Blow on “The American Badass” and follow up with a DDT! Hunter Hearst Helmsley, starting to gain momentum, runs against the ropes and comes back dropping a knee directly to the face of the “Phenom”.

This time it was Undertaker's turn to be in his opponents' corner as Triple H tags out and Austin enters the ring, the two proceeding to stomp the holy hell out of the Deadman as this time it's Kane who enters the ring only to be held back by the official, oh, that's right, Kane's seven feet tall and over three-hundred pounds, fuck the official! Kane goes over to Triple H and Austin with no problem, pulling Triple H off his brother and throwing him to the outside where he shortly followed. The distraction posed by Kane gave Undertaker enough time to get back on his feet and begin brawling with Austin, American Badass against the Texas Rattlesnake toe to toe in the middle of the square circle while the ref tried to established some order. And just when you thought things couldn't get anymore out of control:

“Kane and Triple H taking the battle to the outside while Taker and Austin are exchanging blows inside the ring–! Wait a minute, is that–!?”

A masked man jumped the barricade, so much for security, with a steel chair in hand and came up from behind the “Big Red Machine” and swung the chair as hard as he could against his back! Kane turned around unphased by the chair shot and went after the masked man who quickly dropped the chair and headed back into the crowd, but this time WWF security was ready for him and among them was an Olympic Gold Medalist!

Michael Cole
“It's Kurt Angle! Kurt Angle was disguised as one of the security officers!”
Tazz
“We're seeing the master plan in progress, Cole! Triple H had a plant in the crowd in one “Olympic Gold Medalist” Kurt Angle and now we have this “invader” right where we want him!”

Kurt Angle dragged the masked man to the ring that was now cleared up with Austin alone inside, the invader did his best to break out of Angle's hold but was unable to. As the scene unfolded the fans were the first to notice one significant change between this masked man and the one on RAW. He was smaller.

Michael Cole
“How tall is Kurt Angle?”
Tazz
“What are you talking about, how tall is he? You've been announcing for how long and you don't know how tall our guys are?”
Michael Cole
“Either Kurt Angle has grown or Goldberg's has shrunk.”

Kurt Angle rolled the invader into the ring where Austin is waiting. Triple H gets into the ring just in time to grab the invader as Angle joins in and helps hold him. Austin can be heard shouting, “Unmasked the son of a bitch!” as the crowd is waiting to see who it is under there. They know it's not Goldberg.

Michael Cole
“Austin just said to unmask him.”
Tazz
“He said a lot more than that.”

Triple H placed his hand over the invader's head and did the honors, pulling the mask away as the camera zoomed in to see none other than...

Michael Cole
“Disco Inferno!?”

The camera then cut to a close-up of Steve Austin who looked to be in absolute shock. He was expecting to finally get his hands on Goldberg but instead he was given a nobody, at least a nobody in his mind. Austin yells at Disco Inferno, “Where's Goldberg!?” but Disco doesn't reveals a thing as Triple H and Kurt Angle holds him up and Austin knocks him down with the Stunner!

Michael Cole
“WCW has just pulled the wool over the eyes of the WWF! We were all expecting to see Goldberg return tonight but in his stead is Disco Inferno who just got hit with the Stunner!”
Tazz
“Austin is a hungry dog and WCW just fed him scraps!”
Michael Cole
“And now all three men, Austin, Triple H and Kurt Angle are stomping the living hell out of Disco Inferno!”
Tazz
“Disco is dead.”

The crowd boos the three men and “Goldberg!” chants begin again but there is no sign of the man as Disco Inferno is left barely able to defend himself on the mat. Austin kneels down next to him and talks some trash in his ear, no doubt telling him to send a message to Goldberg before standing up to his feet and leaving the ring with Triple H and Kurt Angle.

Michael Cole
“Triple H and Austin had a plan, they put Kurt Angle on the outside to get the invader, but WCW was one step ahead. What in the hell is going to happen next!?”

SmackDown ends the same way as RAW, only this time with a WCW guy laying down on the mat with the fans still chanting, “Goldberg! Goldberg! Goldberg!”

Apr Week 3

Jim Ross
“Welcome back, ladies and gentlemen, to another live edition of Raw is War, once again I'm Jim Ross alongside my broadcast partner Paul Heyman. Folks, we want to take you back to this past Thursday, WWF Champion Stone Cold Steve Austin and Triple H was in tag team action against the Brothers of Destruction when another masked invader arrived on the scene.”
Paul Heyman
“But this time Austin was ready for him. Thanks to the master plan forged by Triple H, and the assistance of Kurt Angle, they were able to catch the invader and bring him to the ring.”
Jim Ross
“To Austin's anger it did not turn out to be Goldberg, but WCW Superstar Disco Inferno who was then taken out by the three men before SmackDown went off the air.”
Paul Heyman
“This really should come as no surprise to anyone, WCW has a history of screwing people over throughout their tenure. Disco Inferno is just another meaningless pawn in that aspect, but Shane McMahon made a critical mistake sending Inferno in to taunt Steve Austin. Thanks to the unmasking Vince McMahon can now link WCW to these attacks and take the fight right to WCW's doorstep!”
Jim Ross
“We're continue to keep you all at home up to date on the development between the WWF and WCW new found war– Wait a minute. I am receiving word that we have a situation out in the parking lot, our cameras will be taking you over to there as we speak.”
Paul Heyman
“What now?”

The scene cuts to the parking lot where we see Steve Austin and Triple H being held back by security while Kurt Angle try to help calm the two down but to no avail. Before it can be asked what they were being held back from the camera turns over to a familiar man in black and white also being kept back by security, with a baseball bat in his hand and the fans back in the arena exploded at the mere sight of him.

“My God, that's Sting!”
Paul Heyman
“What!?”
Jim Ross
“Sting is in the parking lot! I never in my wildest dreams thought I would see “The Icon” Sting anywhere near a WWF building!”
Paul Heyman
“What is he doing here!?”

Sting wasn't alone, to his right was “Big Poppa Pump” Scott Steiner and to his left was the man that Austin wanted to get his hands on, former WCW World Heavyweight Champion, Bill Goldberg. It didn't take long for the Chairman of the WWF, Vince McMahon, to join the scene wondering what the hell was going on as much as we were as the WCW side of things was joined by their new owner, Vince McMahon's son, Shane McMahon.

Jim Ross
“I get the feeling business is about to pick up here.”
Paul Heyman
“Shane has a lot of nerve showing his face after what happened last week!”

Shane McMahon
“Hey, Pops! How goes the family business?”

Mr. McMahon
“Who the hell do you think you are!? Coming to my arena with these second-rate Superstars and thugs after having Goldberg and Disco Inferno attack my guys on live television–!”

Scott Steiner
“Who you calling second-rate? Scott Steiner has a fine lot of women lining up to get a look at these–!”

Scott Steiner stopped to show off his arm muscles.

Scott Steiner
“While you can't even satisfy one woman!”

Stone Cold Steve Austin
“Give me Goldberg's ass!”

Shane McMahon
“Calm down, Steiner! Now look, Disco Inferno no longer works for us down at WCW. We had to make a few cutbacks and he was one of the unfortunate men that loss his job as a result.”

Mr. McMahon
“What do you mean he doesn't work for you?”

Shane McMahon
“He no longer speaks for WCW. As for Goldberg he was with us down in Atlanta in front of a boatload of witnesses, but I'll tell you what – I'll tell you what. If Austin really wants Goldberg in that ring then I have no problem putting together a little “inter-promotional” match at Backlash provided you give us one stipulation.”

Stone Cold Steve Austin
“Name it!”

Mr. McMahon
“Now wait just a minute! Wait a minute! I'm in charge here, not you. Name your stipulation.”

Shane McMahon
“Austin puts the WWF title on the line!”

Stone Cold Steve Austin
“It's done, now give me Goldberg's ass!”

Jim Ross
“The gauntlet has been thrown down, Shane McMahon wants Goldberg to face Steve Austin for the WWF title and Austin is saying it's done!”
Paul Heyman
“He doesn't have a say in the matter!”

Mr. McMahon
“Wait a minute, dammit! Goldberg doesn't have a contract. If Goldberg wants to sign over to the WWF, if he wants to defect then no problem. I'll happily give him a title shot against Steve Austin, but until he does–”

Stone Cold Steve Austin
“Give him the match! I can whoop Bill Goldberg!”

Mr. McMahon
“Until he does the answer is no.”

Shane McMahon
“What are you afraid of? What are you afraid of?”

Scott Steiner
“You have balls the size of grapefruits? Sounds to me like they're all shivered up!”

Mr. McMahon
“Will you get them out of here?”

Shane McMahon
“Tell you what, we'll let you think about it and get back to us. Come on!”

Mr. McMahon
“Get them out of here!”

Shane McMahon leaves the premises with his WCW Superstars while Vince continue to scream at security to do their job. When the WCW stars are out of the way and heads started to cool down Kurt Angle looked to the others:

Kurt Angle
“It's fortunate that I was able to restrain myself.”

And the others just stared at him blankly.

Kurt Angle
“Oh, it's true. It's true.”

Austin was the first man to storm off, followed by Triple H and finally Vince as Angle just stayed where he was nodding his head as the scene faded to black.
