Dark Matter
The power that runs the galaxy. Dark Matter surrounds us all and is generated from the center of all galaxies in the 'Verse. Harnessing the Dark Matter as an energy force can allow persons to active powers they've attuned themselves to, a force user may call upon the force through Dark Matter, a Black Magic user may continue their arts with the power of Dark Matter. Despite its name, Dark Matter has nothing to do with good or evil, it is simply energy that fills the void. Dark Matter doesn't force us to take sides and currently only humans with rare genetics can naturally harness Dark matter. The use of Dark Matter without these genes can be done with implants which created biotics among the humans. Magic users come naturally, Data Mages are those that harness the power of the 'signal' around them turning radio waves into raw kinetic energy.
Dark Matter runs many things from appliances to Phase-drive engines, without Dark Matter the 'Verse would have to harness energy from stars to travel and live their daily lives. The ability to create entire generators to use Dark Matter to run entire cities was the turning point for humanity and many other alien races, it replaced fossil fuel and was favored over thermal energy. Dark Matter isn't spread evenly through the galaxy and some zones may be dead of energy. It is also not a viable source of natural fuels which are still needed to run ships normally outside of phase-space.
