First Announcement! 8/21

Okay! So I haven't been productive at all today (got my hands on Saints Row 4 early.) but I've come up with a lot of good ideas and Mr. X has filled me in on some of his ideas.

The first plot segment is going to be a slow one for two reasons.

1. I want you guys to develop your characters and story lines a bit.
2. I don't want to rush into a conflict story line when we have so little laid out.

So, what's coming to a forum near you?

• A conflict system. The conflict system will be parted in 3 tiers: casual, medium, hard, or as Mr.X calls it, Minor, Here we are, and Holy Fuck They Have Guns.
  • This system will allow us to place down threat areas.
  • Minor areas may be extremely hard but are completely avoidable.
  • Medium areas are geared more as a nuisance to some might be harder to those with weaker crafts or weapons.
  • Hard areas are geared for those working as a team or those with really big ships. HFTHG areas may be plot areas.
  
  
• NPC Factions that are lead as cannon fodder or fillers. NPC factions will be lead by those that create them and will be present in the story as it changes.
  
• Mr. X is working on a Non-sentient list of animals, if you'd like to suggest animals message him with the name of the animal and description. Pictures are always welcome.
• I'm currently attempting to expand the tech descriptions, (I haven't started but I'm plotting them in my head, most of the work is done it's a matter of explaining it).
• There will be another board opened called Faction Information. It's going to be similar to the Captains board where people can sign up to factions and you can present all the information of your faction there. 
• Personal Boards: The wards were originally going to have sub-boards for key locations, however I feel it's better to allow people to populate the wards with their private homes. Likewise home worlds may have this option as well.
• An 'earning' system. The private home idea comes along with another idea. If you contribute to the forum you may be allowed to have your own home board, this is the earning system where your deeds for the forum earns you special treatment like: personal boards, first say so on future projects, having their hands in lore based plots, and other things that could allow people a more inside feel into the plot.
  • They wont get special treatment like being able to ignore rules or do what ever they want. 
  • It wont be hard to be added to the group that belongs to this system so long as people just role play and contribute.
  • Veterans will be automatically included into this system since they've been around the longest and have contributed in the past, they will still have to earn their way around the forum however, they just get a little boost.
  • The earning system will have a big part in how many posts you have as well, so all that typing will pay off.
  • This system may be dropped completely due to user feedback.
  
  
• Tori and I have decided that we will be bringing back the award system. Nominations will be done the last week of each month and be awarded to the players who earned their award the first of each month. This system may not go into effect for a little while when it does the first award nominations will cover everything from the start of the forum to that nomination.
• We will be eventually looking for a Gmod to help out. Currently Mr. X is a stand in and isn't to be bothered with admin tasks but he will help when he can. Do not ask for a Gmod position, we will give it to the person we feel can contribute the best/most and is the most/best trustworthy person.
• That concludes my announcements! Tori and X may add to this if I have missed something or if they'd like to add something on their ends.

Okay so some people are wondering about a plot. Well, here's how plots are going to work as decided in a random skype call between me and Jess, we both think it's a brilliant idea. We're going to have a sign up list for people who would like to write a primary plot for the site. That person will be the writer and work alongside the staff to make the plot happen with the staff approving or disapproving of certain things. 

The first plot goes to me and will be the opener to allow others to follow behind and have a chance to write the sites plot. At any time a writer may be removed for bad choices and another fill their place. If a plot gets stuck another plot writer may be chosen to interact their ideas with the stuck plot and expand it to keep it moving.

A little sneak peak into the mind of the first plot:

Place: The Citadel 

Time: Morning, no set time

-named- Faction infiltrates the citadel in small forces with the goal of taking down the set council. -named- operatives will interact with each ward while the main force attacks the presidium. 

Outcome: 1. Council is eradicated, 2. Part of the council is killed, 3. No causalities -named- Faction failed and is known as the enemy, 4. Unknown variable, interacts with players choices influencing all options above.

Impact: New enemy shows himself to the entire galaxy rather than to certain groups as seen in prior threads before. Council will have to rebuild or restructure themselves. Balance is thrown out and an outcry from the people will occur. 

Est. Death Total: 1000 spread between, Council, Civilian, C-sec, Military Forces, and Resistance.

That is a little insight into our up coming plot and how I structure my plot writing. I've left out a lot of important information and spoilers to the plot itself, each main plot will have sub-plots. For instance this is one of the sub-plots that will occur during the main plot, the outcome of this sub-plot will affect the main plot.

Place: Citadel Ward

Time: During Main Attack

Placement of -named- troops are set up along the wards escape routes, the -name- ward has been decided as the placement for the Explosives to be set along the connection between the ward and the presidium. If -named- faction succeeds the ward will be blown from the rest of tie citadel and ejected into space.

Outcome: 1. The explosion ejects the ward into space killing millions. 2. A team disarms the bomb and kills the troops saving the day.

Impact: The destruction of the ward may be the perfect distraction for the troops in the presidium to take out the council. The loss of an entire ward will throw the citadel into panic causing more of an uproar. The damage done to the presidium may cut off troops moving in from other wards. Likewise, dismantling the efforts to destroy the ward will cause those who did the job to be recognized as heroes and their efforts will be repayed.

Est. Death Total: 500mil

This is only one of the sub-plots that will happen during the same period of time as the raid on the council. There may or may not be other plots at the same time. The sub-plots reflect the number of active users and if I feel we have enough characters or people around we may do more than one sub-plot. The idea is up to the writer. 

The sub-plot allows people to not cram into one thread trying to stop the forces of evil, it gives other people the chance to become heroes in their own way. Not every person has to kill the evil guys to be rewarded and honored. 

The first plot post will begin small and will be done with the coming days before the weekend.
