How boring....
Saephara sat at Ice Frenzy, one of the middle class clubs that was set up in the darker parts of town. In front of her sat a margarita that had just been made, the ice making the large glass slick with condensation. Dance music played throughout, bass booming from the sound speakers. Looking around, she recognized a few of the regulars and nodded towards those that she made eye contact with. The bar was decent with two pools tables in the main area, a sitting area for those who wanted to mingle and the S-shaped bar for those just wanting some drinks. The decor was modern with a slight classical twist, a bit of age creeping into the place. But the main attraction? There was a stage in the back that performers could come to and show their stuff. Tonight was a special performance indeed, but it wasn't until later. Grabbing her drink, she hopped off the cushioned bar stool and walked outside. Tonight, she wore a white ensemble to include a low backed corset that was cropped right above her belly button and low seated pair of jeans that flared out to float right above the floor, letting a pair of red shiny heels poke out. Her hair had been left loose to move with the air. No need to mess with it really.
She moved through the growing crowd gracefully, turning to and fro to avoid touching any others. As Sae reached the night air, she took a deep breath and let it go slowly. She moved to stand next to her motorcycle and dug in her seat compartment to pull out a pack of cigarettes. She couldn't get sick from the carcinogens so why hold back? She kicked a lone cigarette out of the pack and grabbed it with her ruby red lips, snapping her fingers to bring a small flame to life in order to light it. She inhaled deeply and let the chemicals do their work on her endorphines. She always was this way when it was time. The crowds, they made her itch...they made her want their blood. They made her want it spilled across her and splashed across the walls. Sae had found that it helped to have cigarettes on hand when those feelings came across.
Ever since she had embraced her darker half, her powers had been ever developing...as have her sadistic tendencies. Sae found she needed to be more cautious around the innocent and hold herself carefully around those with evil intent. It made her giddy in ways she couldn't understand quite yet. Sensing movement, she kept her cigarette between her lips and swung behind her to grab the hand that had been reaching for her. Drink in the opposite hand, she turned slowly while exhaling her smoke to turn sapphire eyes upon this person. It was one of the regulars named Karasu, a girl that had started to 'manage' her. She was only 18, standing at 5' 4" and had black hair but for some peculiar reason had vibrant red eyes. Saephara had let her go ahead and do what she was doing because she needed the money and for some reason, Sae liked her.
"Karasu, girl, you know better than to touch me. Especially coming from behind," Sae chided the girl, letting her go.
"Yes, yes, well I needed to get your attention. You were zoning out again. Jeez, Sae, come on. It's almost time," Karasu huffed. A clipboard was in one hand and the other was on her hip. She dressed casually with jeans and a tank top, a foot tapping on the floor. "You've got to hurry up. They're done setting up on stage." Sae shook her head and took her cigarette between her free hand to take a few gulps of her drink, feeling the smooth tequila go down her throat. "Alright, let's go."
Together the two walked in. The crowd had even gotten thicker in anticipation of the upcoming performance. Since the plague had ended, the population had picked back up slowly, tourism skyrocketing once word got out it was safe to visit the city again. It was like the parting of the sea as she walked in. As she clicked past people, she could her whispers of the names some have heard her by.
"It's the Haunting Temptress....look..."
"That's the one they call the Untouchable Angel..."
"Look at those wings of hers..."
Sae smirked as she reached the end of the bar, taking the last drag from her cigarette. She put it out in the ashtray on the counter, then placed her drink down. She took a moment to preen her wings and make sure they hadn't been bothered by any of the bystanders. They were a beautiful iridescent pair of raven's wings that had been granted by the previous butler of the Hellsing Organization, Sebastian Michaelis. He had been the one to save her when things had gone horribly wrong with her emergence. Even now, she could feel the pure power he had used to fuse her spine together. A demon's power truly was intoxicating. The colors in her feathers moved in waves, starting in purple, then green, tinges of pink, then blue. She simply adored her wings. Fully extended, they reached an impressive 10 foot wingspan.
She stepped on the stage and walked to the middle of the stage, the crowd growing quiet and the blaring music turning down to leave the club in complete silence. Sae grasped the microphone on the stage and brought it up to her lips, purring. "Good evening everyone. If you don't know my name, you clearly must be new. My name is Saephara and I will be your entertainment for the night. Come, get comfortable, get close. It'll be a good night." Applause erupted through the crowd and she gave them a few moments before cuing the DJ up top in the rafters. Immediately he started the music and the whole club started to get into the groove. Sae closed her eyes and breathed deep, moving her body to the music's underlying beats before starting to sing.
Meeting you here, the night's alight with midnight cheer
Our dust still unsettled, I feel the plucking of our petals
I'm drawing circles don't you know, protect the seed that wants to grow
To a garden, part of my territory
I'd fight for you
I never knew that I could feel this way
I'm right for you
This kinda love don't happen everyday
Be friendly but cautious, you're gonna have to count your losses
Easily attracted, but dangerous to get distracted
I'm drawing circles don't you know, protect the seed that wants to grow
To a garden, part of my territory
I'd fight for you
I never knew that I could feel this way
I'm right for you
This kinda love don't happen everyday
I'd fight for you
I didn't wanna have to raise my voice
I'm right for you
You really leave me with no choice
So what do you want and what are you thinking?
Isn't it about time you stuck up for me?
But what you can't see is we're under siege
and I only fight because I believe
Not gonna share you no
I'd fight for you
I never knew that I could feel this way
I'm right for you
This kinda love don't happen everyday
I'd fight for you
I didn't wanna have to raise my voice
I'm right for you
You really leave me with no choice
I'd fight for you
I didn't wanna have to raise my voice
I'm right for you
You really leave me with no choice
I'd fight for you
I'm right for you
Sae kept singing as the music flowed through her body, putting a small amount of her power into her voice, projecting it and weaving a web of intrigue and depth. It really was going to be a good night.
